On a cold , Chicago wintry night in March of 2007 two guys met after answering a craigslist ad for lead guitarist looking for bandmates.  Tyler Imbrey trudged through the snow in Lincoln Park wielding an acoustic guitar after watching the Tarheel (his Alma Mata) game just before.  When he arrived, he came upon a modest looking garage and upon entering discovered a very peculiar site.  The ad was created by none other than Lucas Gale, avid guitarist, climber, fine whiskey enthusiast, and last but not least med student.

The apartment was riddled with open pocket knives, firearms, and various pictures of antlers and was actually not an apartment at all.  Luke rented a garage for $145 dollars a month and had drilled 20′ underground to the water line and installed a full bathroom.

So this was the starting point, and two years later the five piece group won 1st place among the 200 participating Chicago bands in an international music competition.  This sent them touring to New York City where they competed for the National finals at Webster Hall and sold out the famous “Bitter End”  (renowned for launching the careers of many famous New York musicians) the following night.

Shortly following they signed a deal with Arise Entertainment, an offshoot of Noalternative.  Soon after they got an apartment together in a more robust version of NODA, Chicago’s hipster neighborhood, Wicker Park. This went well for a while, but on their second east coast tour, the drummer and saxophonist at the time had an irreparable argument.

One excellent thing came out of the Southeast tour and that was the decision to move there.  So, when the lease ran out in September of 2010, the remaining members of the band (the two originals, and primary songwriters) Tyler and Luke fled to NC narrowly escaping the Chicago winter.

At that point they started auditioning drummers and bassists and finally settled on a great pair, enter Dave Krusch and Joey Williams.  After furious rehearsing and writing the 4some played a mini mountains to sea tour in North and South Carolina and thus the new NC version of On The Run was up and running.
